GOLCS’ downtown middle school campus is located in Teachers Village, a mixed used community in downtown Newark that consists of three charter schools and 204 units of rental housing occupied by educators, including many Great Oaks AmeriCorps Tutor Corps members.

AmeriCorps awarded our network a grant of over $10,000,000 this year, allowing us to deploy over 270 recent college graduates to serve our students as tutors. Many of these individuals will remain in the cities where they work after their year of service, positively impacting our schools and communities for years to come.

The mission of the Newark Charter School Fund (NCSF) is to support the quality, growth, and sustainability of the charter sector in order to provide all of Newark’s students with access to great schools in collaboration with district efforts to improve the quality of Newark public education.

Formed in 1999, the New Jersey Charter Schools Association (NJCSA) is a 501(c)(3) membership association that represents the state’s charter school community and, by extension, charter school students and their parents. We are committed to advancing quality public education for New Jersey’s children through quality public charter schools, with the vision that every child in the State of New Jersey should have the opportunity to attend a high-quality public school that best meets his or her needs.

Founded in 1990, Teach for America is a diverse network of leaders who confront educational inequity through teaching and work with unwavering commitment from every sector of society to create a nation free from this injustice. Each year, Teach for America – New Jersey partners with Great Oaks Legacy Charter School to provide opportunities for TFA Corps members to work in GOLCS schools.

Relay Graduate School of Education is a nationally accredited graduate institution with the mission to teach teachers and school leaders to develop in all students the academic skills and strength of character needed to succeed in college and life. Relay GSE partners with GOLCS to provide educator preparation and development to its teachers and leaders.
